We look to participate in service projects that involve our children and parents in hands-on experiences. Our families will work to lessen the burdens of others while gaining an improved appreciation for their own lives and a lifetime appreciation for those people and groups that serve our communities every day.
Uniting with the Community
Service works with local organizations to help provide help to our community. We also work with local schools to find needy families to “adopt” and supply them with basic essentials.
We collect specific items at the monthly meeting that are needed by a charity. Our monthly newsletters contain information on what service items members can contribute. Items may be placed into a collection box at the meeting.
Service Teams up with Programs to make socializing more meaningful
In between field trip signups and the business meeting each month (6:30pm-6:50pm) we will be making tie blankets and personalized note cards to benefit Project Night Night. It’s a great way to socialize with other members while volunteering your time. Project Night Night is a non-profit organization that delivers over 25,000 Night Night Bags each year to shelters around the country. Each Night Night Package contains a new security blanket, an age-appropriate children’s book, and a stuffed animal — all nestled inside of a new canvas tote bag with a personalized note. By providing objects of reliable comfort, Project Night Night reduces trauma and advances the emotional and cognitive well-being of the children. Thank you for taking some time each month to help make a difference in a homeless child’s life! – firstname.lastname@example.org
Have maternity clothes and baby items that are no longer needed?
We are collecting maternity clothes and baby items to donate to Womankind, a charity that helps new moms in need. They will accept clothes, toys and any other baby accessories that are used up to 24 months of age. Any leftover diapers or formula samples are also welcome. Please bring the items with you to the meeting or contact email@example.com to make other arrangements. Tax receipts are also available upon request.
If you have a charity you wish to support or have suggestions on how SECPTA can be of service, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your ideas.
