About this event
Homeschoolers (or any SECPTA kids ages 5+) are welcome to join us for a naturalist-led STEM field trip at Jordan Creek Environmental Learning Center exploring motion and how it is affected by force, friction and speed.
Bring a packed lunch, afterwards we can check out their amazing outdoor Adventure Play area or take a hike down to the creek. (Dress appropriately and/or bring a change of clothes.)
"If you want anything to move, you have to give it a push or pull. Observe and demonstrate Newton’s laws of motion and gravity through activities using forces on wheels and rockets. Students design stomp rockets to launch to demonstrate force and gravity."
Program is intended for grades 1-2, open to all SECPTA families with kids ages 5+.
