Future Scientist is a class lead by Arlene Rosen, but let‘s be honest, she‘s basically Mrs. Frizzle! She is so much fun and all about getting kids excited about science in a nurturing environment. The topic of this drop-off class is animals! Students will learn that all animals breathe and eat! They will discover the similarities and differences between mammals, fish, birds, amphibians, and reptiles in Animating Animals! In each class, students experiment, analyze, predict, and make a project emphasizing the topic! Each class is 45 minutes. If your scientist is more comfortable with you staying for the class, you are welcome to stay. Ages: 3+ years (potty trained).
Join us at the Valley Art Center for alphabet soup! We will be exploring letters using clay as a medium, and creating a usable dish or bowl with an alphabet theme! This is a 1.5 hour class for caregivers to enjoy with their little artist! Ages: 3-6 years.
Calling crafty artists of all ages. Bring a scrapbook of your choice--see link below for an easy option--and some printed photos to make your own scrapbook. Caregivers are welcome to register younger children to work on a project together, register themselves as a parent participant to work on their own project, or simply sit back and relax as your older child cuts and glues and decorates! We have a ton of fun glitter pens, stickers, decorative paper, gems, and adhesives. Snacks will be provided by SECPTA, but please consider bringing along some toys and/or games to help entertain any younger siblings you might be bringing who may not choose or be able to participate. **https://a.co/d/0cFq3O85** Ages: 5-12 years.
Snuggle up for our Baby Animal Ballet Adventure at Tutu School! Little dancers will scamper, stretch, and twirl as they move like playful puppies, tiny bunnies, and graceful kittens while building foundational movement skills. During this sweet one-hour adventure, children will also enjoy an adorable animal-themed craft and a simple snack to keep their energy up. It’s the perfect blend of playful magic for your tiniest movers! Ages: 1-5 years.
Join SECPTA friends for toddler open swim at the Solon Rec! Please note that children (must be under 7) are free. Adults with a community center membership are also free--please scan your membership card upon entry. All adults who do not have a membership are $5. Ages: 0-5 years.
Bring the family and come spend a free afternoon on the farm! The barn, playground, grounds and gardens will all be open and ready for kids to run around and enjoy the spring sun. Feel free to bring a packed lunch or snacks.
This is open to the public and self guided. Feel free to join us and find some SECPTA friends along the way. While registration is not required, it is viewable to members which makes it an easy way to connect once on site.
Event will be cancelled if there is heavy rain.
We will be meeting at Amanda‘s home (email Kate.Breuer@secpta.net for address) and we will be reading Not Quite Dead Yet by Holly Jackson. As always, feel free to come socialize even if you don’t read the book!
